Removing and installing seat cushion

  • Seat cushion
  • ◆ Removing
    • ‒ Raise seat as far as possible.
    • ‒ Remove seat
    • ‒ Remove seat extension, front trim panel and guide sleeves => Page 72-81
    • ‒ Remove fitting panels => Page 72-94
    • ‒ Remove spring cover => Page 72-96
    • ‒ Disengage cover for electrics -2- beneath seat.
 
A72-0145
    • ‒ If fitted, detach cushion cables (heating, seat occupied sensor).
    • ‒ Fold up cushion -1- at front.
    • ‒ Pull out cushion -1- at front.

Note:

The two seat springs and the corresponding rubber buffers at the rear between cushion and backrest drop out automatically on removal.

  • ◆ Installing
    • ‒ Ensure rubber buffers -3- are properly positioned in mounts at backrest.
    • ‒ Insert springs -4- in cushion.
    • ‒ Route cover for electrics -2- through between backrest and seat frame.
 
A72-0145
    • ‒ Insert seat cushion -1- so that springs -4- rest on rubber buffers -3- on the backrest.
    • ‒ Push seat cushion -1- towards the rear.
    • ‒ Press down cushion -1- at front.
    • ‒ If applicable, reconnect cushion cables.
    • ‒ Engage cover for electrics beneath seat.
