Checking:

• ‒ Remove retaining clip -C- for selector lever cable at lever/selector shaft =>Page 37-61.
• ‒ Press selector lever cable off lever/selector shaft.
• ‒ Move the selector lever from "P" to "2".

• ● Selector lever mechanism and selector lever cable must move freely; if necessary renew selector lever cable or service selector lever mechanism.

• ‒ Move the selector lever to "P".
• ‒ Move the lever/selector shaft to "P" (rearmost position, the parking lock must engage).

• ● It should be possible to push the selector lever cable onto the selector shaft lever. Adjust selector lever cable if necessary.

Adjusting

• ‒ Set the selector lever to "P".
• ‒ Move the lever/selector shaft to "P" (rearmost position, the parking lock must engage).
• ‒ Slightly loosen the bolt securing the support bracket to the gearbox.

• ● Check to ensure that the gate lever cable is free from strain. If necessary, relieve the strain.

• ‒ Tighten securing bolt - 23 Nm.
