Special tools, testers and auxiliary equipment required

• ◆ → Extractor lever VW 681

• ◆ Thrust pad 3295

Removing

• ‒ Removing gearbox .
• ‒ Attach the gearbox to the assembly stand => Page 37-130 or place on a level surface.

• ‒ → Position extractor lever VW 681 directly behind sealing lip of sealing ring so that the mounting ring positioned behind is not damaged.

Installing

• ‒ Insert mounting ring.
• ‒ Lightly lubricate outer circumference and sealing lips of seal with ATF.
• ‒ Installation position: The open side of the oil seal faces toward the gearbox.

• ‒ → Use the thrust pad 3295 to push on the oil seal for the torque converter up to the stop of thrust pad.
