t  Hand-operated vacuum pump -VAS 6213-

Procedure
l  Vacuum hoses and hose connections do not leak.
l  Vacuum hoses are not clogged.
–  Release quick-release fasteners and remove engine cover panel -arrows-.

–  Remove vacuum hose at combination valve for secondary air -arrow-.
  Note
For illustration purposes, the installation position is shown from the rear and with the engine removed.
–  Connect hand-operated vacuum pump to vacuum connection on combination valve for secondary air system.

–  Disconnect hose -arrow- at pipe leading to combination valve for secondary air and attach test hose.
–  Blow gently into pipe (do not use compressed air).
l  The combination valve for secondary air system should be closed; it should not be possible to blow through the hose.
–  Operate hand-operated vacuum pump to produce a vacuum
l  The combination valve should open; it should now be possible to blow through the hose.
–  Renew combination valve for secondary air system if valve does not react as described → Chapter.
