Removing and installing parts of fuel supply system
Safety precautions when working on the fuel supply system
When removing and installing the sender for fuel gauge or the fuel pump (fuel pumping unit) from topped up or partly topped up fuel containers the following must be observed:

◆ Before commencing work, switch on exhaust extraction system and place an extraction hose close to the sender opening in the fuel tank to extract escaping petrol fumes.
If no exhaust suction system is available a radial vent (engine is outside of the air flow) with a delivery volume greater than 15 m3/h.

◆ Avoid skin contact with petrol. Wear fuel-resistant gloves.
