Removing

Notes:

• ◆ Ask customer for radio anti-theft code.
• ◆ The fuel tank should not be more than two-thirds full.

• ‒ Disconnect battery earthing strap.
• ‒ Remove cover for sealing flange from below boot trim.
• ‒ Pull off connector from sealing flange.

• ‒ → Pull off return pipe Blue and feed pipe.
• ‒ Use special tool 3217 to open locking ring.
• ‒ Carefully pull out sealing flange and set aside.
• ‒ Unclip sender for fuel gauge and remove.

Installing:

• ‒ Install in reverse order.

• ‒ With vehicles with front wheel driveelec. cable for sender fuel gauge must be routed between return pipe and fuel tank housing.
• ‒ In vehicles with 4 wheel drive elec. cable for sender fuel gauge must be routed between suction pump line and fuel tank housing.
• ‒ → When installing the sealing flange ensure that both arrows point exactly towards each other.
• ‒ Front and Quattro have one arrow each.
