Removing and installing sealing flange

Removing

• ‒ → Insert special tool 3307
  through fuel container opening and attach at baffle housing
• ‒ Turn inner section of baffle housing with key 3307 by approx. 15°towards left and remove fuel pump with inner section of baffle housing.

Installing

Installing the fuel pump is carried out in reverse order of removal.

Notes:

• ◆ Moisten flange seal with fuel when fitting.
• ◆ Installation position of sealing flange => Page 20-5

Vehicles with front-wheel drive

• ‒ → Twist hose -7- and elec. line -5- into the position as illustrated above. When installing turn sealing flange in direction of arrow as shown in top right in illustration.
• ‒ -3- Press together with pliers V.A.G 1275.
• ‒ 1 Baffle housing
• ‒ 2 Sealing flange
• ‒ 3 Clamps
• ‒ 4 Fixing bolt
• ‒ 5 Elec. wire
• ‒ 6 Cable ties
• ‒ 7 Hose

• ‒ Elec. cable for sender fuel gauge must be routed between return pipe and fuel tank housing.

Vehicles with four-wheel drive

• ‒ → Twist hose -7- and elec. wire -5- into position as shown in upper left part of illustration.
• ‒ Press clamps -3- together with clamping pliers V.A.G 1275.
• ‒ 1 Baffle housing
• ‒ 2 Sealing flange
• ‒ 3 Clamps
• ‒ 4 Fixing bolt
• ‒ 5 Elec. Wire
• ‒ 6 Cable ties
• ‒ 7 Hose
• ‒ Install baffle housing with sealing flange into tank.
• ‒ Elec. cable for sender fuel gauge must be routed between suction pump pipe and fuel tank housing.

• ‒ → Turn sealing flange towards left until arrows face each other.
