  • ◆ 3301/1 from assembly device
  • ◆ 3349 Puller
  • ◆ VW 401 Pressure plate
  • ◆ VW 412 Press tool
  • ◆ Kukko 15-0 Parting tool
  • ◆ Kukko 18-0 Puller

  • Rear bonded rubber bush
    • ◆ Replacing => Figs.1 to4
    • ◆ Always replace both halves of bush
  • Lower link
    • ◆ Replacement part is supplied with fitted bonded rubber bushes
  • Front bonded rubber bush
    • ◆ Replacing => Fig.5

Notes:

  • ◆ Before inserting special tool, the two collars of the bonded rubber bushes must be beaded slightly.
  • ◆ Take extreme care when inserting special tool.
  • ‒ Insert assembly device -3293- such that radii of both special tool jaws are positioned between bush and eye of link.
  • ‒ Then screw in threaded stem as far as it will go such that bonded rubber bush is pressed slightly off eye of link.

  • ‒ Insert commercially available parting tool -Kukko 15-0- in link.
  • ‒ Insert mandrel -3111/8- in hole of bonded rubber bush.
  • ‒ Screw puller Kukko 18-0 into parting tool -Kukko 15-0-. In doing so, centrally align puller.
  • ‒ Then screw in threaded stem -A- until bonded rubber bush is pulled out.

  • ‒ Insert puller -3349- in link.
  • ‒ Then press out second half of bush by screwing in stem -3301/1-.

  • ‒ Insert both halves of bonded rubber bush with thrust pads -3293/4- and threaded stem at right angles in link.

Threaded stem is part of assembly device -3293-.

  • ‒ Pull in bonded rubber bush as far as it will go by tightening threaded stem.

Note:

When pressing out, make sure bonded rubber bush does not rest on end face of pressure plate -3259-.

Collar of tube -3259- faces pressure plate -VW 401-.

  • ‒ Press in bush such that it is flush.
