Removing and installing fuel rail
Removing and installing fuel rail
After the fuel rail has been removed or renewed, intake manifold flap potentiometer -G336- must be adapted to the engine control unit -J623-, see vehicle diagnostic and service information system -VAS 5052 A-, “Guided Function”.
–  Remove intake manifold → Chapter.
–  Remove hoses from activated charcoal filter.
–  To do this, unfasten hose clip -1-.
   
–  Unscrew two bolts -arrows- from fuel rail.
–  Detach hose connection -1- from intake manifold and unscrew two bolts -arrows-.

–  Disconnect fuel lines -2 and 3-.
–  Carefully pry off linkage from intake manifold flap motor -V157--4-.

–  Unbolt intake manifold flap motor -V157--5-.

–  Pry fuel rail over retaining lugs “arrows” on intake manifold.
–  Pull fuel rail off intake manifold.
Installing
–  Install in reverse order.
–  Install intake manifold → Chapter.
