Removing
–  With ignition switched off, disconnect earth cable at battery → Chapter.
–  Detach engine cover -arrows-.
  Note
  A10-10292
Before removing, mark running direction of poly V-belt with chalk or felt-tipped pen. If the belt runs in the wrong direction when it is refitted, this can cause breakage.
–  To loosen poly V-belt, pivot tensioner for poly V-belt in direction of -arrow- and lock in place using locking pin -T40098-.
–  Take off poly V-belt.

–  Detach air hose -2- at intake manifold.
  Note
Disregard -item 1-.
  A10-10320
–  Unscrew bolts (top and bottom) -arrows- and pivot the alternator forwards.
  A27-0097
–  Unplug electrical connector -2-.
–  Unscrew terminal 30/B+ -Item 1-.
–  Take out alternator.

Installing
Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:
  Note
t  Hose flanges and hoses for charge air system must be free from oil and grease before fitting.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue.
–  Make sure poly V-belt is properly positioned and correctly routed.
–  Connect battery. Additional steps required → Anchor.
–  Start engine and check that belt runs properly.
