Activating and deactivating auxiliary heating/auxiliary ventilation by way of Multi Media Interface (MMI)
Activating and deactivating auxiliary heating/auxiliary ventilation by way of Multi Media Interface (MMI)
  Note
The following illustration shows the dash panel insert of an Audi A5 Coupé. The dash panel insert differs slightly on the Audi A4 and Audi Q5. Activation and deactivation are however performed in the same manner as described for the Audi A5 Coupé.
Requirements
l  Auxiliary heater adaption performed in the operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- (check and perform encoding) → Air conditioning; Rep. Gr.87 and → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information systemVAS 5051/, “Guided fault-finding function”
   
l  The auxiliary heater can only be switched on by the supplementary heater control unit -J364- and the “Auxiliary heating on” function can only be activated if there is sufficient fuel in the fuel tank. With the ignition switched on, the fuel gauge -A- must not be in the “red zone” → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information systemVAS 5051/, “Guided fault-finding function”.
l  There must not be any faults stored in the supplementary heater control unit -J364-.
l  The battery -A- (vehicle battery) must be adequately charged.
l  There must not be any faults in the vehicle data bus.
l  Auxiliary heater transportation mode and component protection must not be active → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information systemVAS 5051/, “Guided fault-finding function”.
Activating and deactivating auxiliary heating/auxiliary ventilation
  A82-10102
–  Press the remote control button -A- to activate or the button -B- (OFF button) to deactivate auxiliary heating / auxiliary ventilation.
Or
–  Switch on ignition.
–  Press the CAR button on the MMI controls → Infotainment / MMI operating instructions.
–  Actuate by pressing the AC button.
–  Use the rotary knob/pushbutton to select “Auxiliary heating” or “Auxiliary ventilation” and make the desired settings → Infotainment / MMI operating instructions.
Setting auxiliary heating / auxiliary ventilation
–  Switch on ignition.
–  Press the CAR button on the MMI controls → Infotainment / MMI operating instructions.
–  Actuate by pressing the AC button.
–  Use the rotary knob/pushbutton to select “Auxiliary heating” or “Auxiliary ventilation” and make the desired settings → Infotainment / MMI operating instructions.
–  Pre-select the required temperature on the operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255-.
