1 - Y-pipe
q   Combined in one unit with rear silencers as original equipment
q   Y-pipe, rear silencer and tailpipe can be renewed separately as required
q   For removal on A5 Cabriolet/Sportback: Remove diagonal struts → Fig.
q   Cutting point: Y-pipe / rear silencer → Chapter
q   Align exhaust system so it is free of stress → Chapter
2 - Rear silencer
q   Combined with Y-pipe in one unit as original equipment
q   Y-pipe, rear silencer and tailpipe can be renewed separately as required
q   For removal on A5 Cabriolet/Sportback: remove diagonal struts → Fig.
q   Cutting point: Y-pipe / rear silencer → Chapter
q   Cutting point between rear silencer and tailpipe → Chapter
q   Align exhaust system so it is free of stress → Chapter
3 - Gasket
q   Renew
4 - Particulate filter
q   With catalytic converter
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   After renewing, perform Adaption in Guided Functions → Vehicle diagnostic tester
5 - Nut
q   Renew
q   Coat thread with high-temperature paste; for high-temperature paste refer to → Electronic parts catalogue
q   23 Nm
6 - Gasket
q   Renew
7 - Turbocharger
8 - Nut
q   Renew
q   23 Nm
9 - Clamp (front)
q   Before tightening, align exhaust system so it is free of stress → Chapter
q   Installation position → Fig.
q   Tighten bolt connections evenly
10 - Nut
q   23 Nm
11 - Front exhaust pipe
q   With flexible joint; do not bend flexible joint more than 10° – otherwise it can be damaged
q   Protect against knocks and impact
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Stress-free alignment of exhaust system with cutting point → Chapter
12 - Bolt
q   23 Nm
13 - Tailpipe
q   Renewing → Chapter
14 - Mounting
q   Renew if damaged
q   Check preload → Chapter „Stress-free alignment of exhaust system“
15 - Nut
q   20 Nm
16 - Clamp (rear)
q   For separate replacement of Y-pipe and rear silencers
q   Before tightening, align exhaust system so it is free of stress → Chapter
q   Installation position → Fig.
q   Tighten bolt connections evenly
17 - Nut
q   23 Nm
18 - Nut
q   Renew
q   23 Nm
19 - Bolt
q   Tightening torque → Fig.
20 - Mounting
q   Renew if damaged
q   Components → Fig.
q   Check preload → Chapter „Stress-free alignment of exhaust system“

   
Installation position of front clamp
–  Install clamp so that ends of bolts do not protrude beyond bottom of clamp.
l  Bolt connection faces to left.

–  Install clamps so that the bolt ends do not protrude beyond bottom of clamp.
l  Installation position: bolt connections face forwards.
