Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
‹› VAG 1331 Torque wrench (or 5 - 50 Nm equivalent)
‹› VAG 1332 Torque wrench (or 40 - 200 Nm equivalent)
Removing

Disconnect battery => [ Battery, Engine Compartment, Disconnecting and Connecting ] See: Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Battery, Engine Compartment, Disconnecting and Connecting.

Lift vehicle.
-
Release fasteners - 1 - and - 2 - and remove front noise insulation.

Remove heat shield - 1 - for right drive shaft.

Remove bolts - 1 - and - 2 -.
