Shifter A/T: Overhaul

Shift Mechanism

‹› Securing spring for locking cable, removing and installing.

‹› The entire shift mechanism must be replaced if the gate or the shift mechanism function unit is faulty. It is not possible to adjust both components

using workshop equipment.

Disassembling

-

Place selector lever in position "S".

-

Remove Shift Lock Solenoid (N110) -  7 -. Refer to => [ Shift Lock Solenoid ] See: Actuators and Solenoids - A/T/Shift Interlock
Solenoid/Service and Repair.

-

Remove gate - 12 - from selector mechanism function unit - 14 -.

-

Release pivot pins - 5 - and - 19 - and pull them out from the side.

-

Unclip retaining brackets - 2 - and - 16 -. 

-

Pull off retaining clip - 17 -.

-

Swing locking lever - 11 - fully upwards.

-

Remove selector lever - 6 -, the bearing bushings -  3 - and - 15 - the Tiptronic locking lever -  4 - and - 18 - downward and out of the selector
mechanism function unit - 14 -.
