Driveshaft

Removing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Assembly tool (3139)

‹› Pressing lever (80-200)

‹› M8 x 30 bolt (2x)

‹›  Engine and transmission jack (VAG1383A) with universal transmission mounting (VAG1359/2)

Remove rear section of exhaust system as from clamp(s).

-

Use pressing lever (80-200) to pry off rear attachments - A - of heat shield for driveshaft.

Remove bolts - B - for center bearing.

‹› When removing the bolts support the driveshaft by hand. Do not bend driveshaft. Refer to => [ Driveshaft Assembly Overview ] See: Driveshaft

Assembly Overview.

Remove heat shield. Continue supporting driveshaft.

-

Install bolts for center bearing again hand-tight.

Remove heat shield for driveshaft off transmission - arrows  -.
