Shifter M/T: Adjustments

Shift Mechanism, Adjusting

The following points are essential to ensure correct shift adjustment: 

‹› Operating and transfer elements of shift mechanism must be in proper condition.

‹› Shift mechanism must move freely.

‹› The transmission, clutch and clutch mechanism must be in proper condition. 

‹› Transmission in neutral position.

Procedure

Remove shift knob with cover. Refer to => [ Shift Knob with Cover ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/02XA
Transmission/Shift Knob With Cover.

Vehicles with large radio slot:

-

Remove air conditioning operating unit.

Vehicles with small radio slot:

-

Raise cover - 1 - first in direction of -  arrow A - and pull this out in direction of - arrow B -. 

All Vehicles

-

Remove bolts - arrow C - and then remove ashtray -  2 - from center console.

-

Disconnect ashtray lighting electrical connector.

-

Remove foam wedges from center console.

-

Remove noise insulation upward.

-

Remove shifter housing noise insulation - arrows -.
