Seat Heating Element, Comfort Seat

Removing

-

Remove cover and upholstery from seat pan. Refer to => [ Cover and Upholstery, Seat Pan with Seat Cushion Extension ].

Disconnect cover from upholstery. Refer to => [ Cover and Padding, Seat Pan with Seat Cushion Extension Separating

and Assembling ] See: Service and Repair/Overhaul/Front Seat Covers and Upholstery Assembly Overview.

Cut the electrical wire - 3 - off directly at the old heating element - 2 -.

-

Cut through the connecting bars - arrows -.

-

Carefully loosen the seat heating elements - D - and -  E - from the bonded connection and remove them.

‹› The spacer fabric must not be damaged.

‹› The old seat heating elements - A, B and C - remain on the upholstery and the new seat heating element is bonded over them.

Installation

-

Align the new heating element on upholstery.

CAUTION!
‹› Make sure the new seat heating element is affixed to the old heating element.

‹› Remove the protective films in the bonding sequence for the heating element area.

‹› When removing the protective film, make sure the heating element is not damaged and that it is attached without wrinkles.

Bond the individual areas of the heating element in the sequence -  A, B, C, D and E -.

-

Route the connecting wires to the individual heating surfaces in the base of the gaps - arrows -.
