Crankshaft Assembly Overview

‹› Secure engine to assembly stand using Engine and Transmission Holder (VAS 6095) when performing repair work. Refer to => [ Engine, Securing

Bearing shell for cylinder block

‹› With lubricating groove

‹› Do not interchange used bearing shells (mark)

‹› Classification for replacement part ordering => [ Upper Crankshaft Bearing Identification ]

Crankshaft

‹› After removal, place in such a way it does not rest on sensor wheel -  5 - and damage it

‹› Axial clearance, refer to => [ Crankshaft, Measuring Axial Play ] See: Testing and Inspection/Crankshaft, Measuring Axial Play

‹› Radial clearance, refer to => [ Crankshaft, Measuring Radial Play ] See: Testing and Inspection/Crankshaft, Measuring Radial Play

‹› Do not turn crankshaft when measuring radial play
