Removing and installing engine mounting (right-side)   Note t  To avoid repeat repairs, proceed as follows if an engine mounting is defective: t  Renew engine mounting and corresponding bracket. t  Also renew engine mounting on opposite side; check corresponding bracket and renew if necessary. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Support bracket -10 - 222 A-

t  Engine support bracket (supplementary set) -T40093-

Removing   Note Engine mountings must be renewed in pairs. –  Remove engine cover panel -arrows-.

–  Remove alternator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.

–  Set up support bracket -10 - 222 A- with adapter -T40093/6- on suspension turrets (left and right) as illustrated. –  Attach spindle -10 - 222 A /11- to engine lifting eye (rear right). –  Partly take up weight of engine with spindle.

–  Unscrew nut -arrow- on longitudinal member (right-side) and move earth cables clear.

–  Unplug electrical connector -2- at oil level and oil temperature sender -G266- and move clear.

–  Unplug electrical connector -2- on solenoid valve (right-side) for electro-hydraulic engine mounting -N145- and move clear. –  Remove bolts -1, 4- and -arrows- for retaining plate for engine mounting (right-side). –  Move wiring harness clear at retaining plate -3- for engine mounting (right-side). –  Move retaining plate for engine mounting clear to one side.

–  Using spindle -10 - 222 A /11-, raise engine through distance -a-. l  Distance -a- = approx. 20 mm. –  Detach engine mounting (right-side). Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following: l  Tightening torques → Chapter „Assembly mountings - exploded view“   Note t  Renew the bolts tightened with specified tightening angle. t  Fit all cable ties in the original positions when installing. –  Install electrical wiring → Electrical system; Rep. gr.97. –  Install alternator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
