Removing and installing fuel filter
Removing and installing fuel filter
   
Removing
–  Observe safety precautions → Chapter.
–  Observe rules for cleanliness → Chapter.
–  Remove fuel delivery unit: vehicles with front-wheel drive → Chapter, vehicles with four-wheel drive → Chapter.
–  Unplug earth connection -arrow- on retaining plate for fuel pressure regulator.

–  Press release tab and disconnect fuel line -1-.
–  Unplug electrical connector -6- for fuel gauge sender -G-.
–  Unplug electrical connector for fuel pump on fuel pump.
–  Lift flange -4- with fuel filter off fuel delivery unit -3-.
–  Release a total of 3 retaining tabs -5- by inserting a total of 3 release strips -7- (included in fuel filter repair kit) -arrow-.
–  Pull fuel filter -2- downwards out of flange.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

Renew O-ring.
–  Insert fuel filter into guides on flange and press in until it engages.
  Note
The fuel filter can only be inserted in one position.
–  Install fuel delivery unit: vehicles with front-wheel drive → Anchor, vehicles with four-wheel drive → Anchor.
