Pull out front gear 2 and carefully take out toward top.
Note:
When removing the front gear 2, make sure the sender for transmission output RPM -G195-, which is screwed into the distributor housing,
does not get damaged.
CAUTION!
Gears which have fallen to the floor cannot be re-installed. The transmission must be replaced.

Remove snap ring (item -16-,.
A - Support KUKKO 22/1
B - Extractor KUKKO 22/2
Note:
The upper part of the illustration shows how the pulling hooks of the extractor -B- go in the needle bearing.

Slide centering sleeve -2- of extractor -B- approximately 4 mm (0.16 inch) in direction of arrow in order to open pulling hooks wide enough.

Install extractor-B- in upper lip of front gear 2 and tighten extractor at nut.

Set up support -A- on extractor-B- as shown.
^
Support support -A- with pressure plate VW 402 and pretension support using nut-3-.
^
Using standard commercial hot air blower, heat distributor gear on outside, in area of needle bearing seat, quickly to 80 - 100°C (176 - 212°F).

Pull needle bearing out quickly.
Installing
The needle bearing is installed in reverse order of removal. In addition, the following work steps have to be carried out.

Check sealing ring seat in transmission housing for damage; rework if necessary.

Using standard commercial hot air blower, heat distributor gear on outside, in area of needle bearing seat, quickly to 80 - 100°C (176 - 212°F).
