Note:

Never attach the alignment fixture at balance plates.

Loosen mounting bolts for center bearing.

^

Remove mounting bolts from flanges for transmission, rear final drive and center bearing.

^

Push drive shaft toward rear final drive.
CV joints can be moved axially.

^

Guide drive shaft out of transmission flange together with alignment fixture.

Installing 

The drive shaft is installed in reverse order of removal. In addition, the following work steps have to be carried out.

Notes:

^

So that no imbalance occurs, the flanges must be installed so that the colored marks line up properly.

^

Always replace the gaskets between the drive shaft and drive flanges (pull off the protective film and stick the gaskets to the drive flanges).

Always replace self-locking fasteners.

CAUTION! 

^

The threads in the drive flanges of the transmission and the rear final drive must absolutely be cleaned of locking compound residue after the drive
shaft is removed. Otherwise, there is the possibility that the new bolts will seize when installed and tear out during subsequent removal.

Cleaning can be done with a thread cleaner.

^

After installation, adjust drive shaft .

^

Install exhaust system without tension.
