Remove the banjo bolt - 2 - using a bent open end wrench, for example, (Hazet 615).

-

Pull the return line as far to the right toward the bulkhead as possible.

Remove the bolt - 3 - form the steering gear.

‹› The illustration shows the bolt - 3 - from inside. It is located directly behind the banjo bolts - 1 and 2 - and near the Servotronic solenoid valve

(N119).

Remove the bolt - 4 - form the steering gear.

‹› The bolt - 4 - can only be removed once the steering gear is removed.

Remove the bolt - arrow -.

-

Slide the steering gear to the right slightly so the bolt - arrow - can be removed from it.

Two technicians are required for the next steps

-

Guide the steering gear as far to the left as possible and rotate it 90 degrees counterclockwise.

-

Now guide the steering gear again as far as possible toward left and rotate it about 90 degrees counterclockwise.

‹› Make sure that the bulkhead boot is not damaged by the steering gear pinion.

-

Remove the steering gear toward the left.
