Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Combination Valve, Checking Function and for Leaks

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Hand vacuum pump (VAG 1390)

Test Prerequisites

‹› Vacuum lines and hose connections free of leaks.

‹› Vacuum lines not plugged.

Test Sequence

Remove the engine cover - 1 - upward.

Disconnect the vacuum hose - arrow - from the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) combination valve to be checked.

Connect the (VAG 1390) to the vacuum hose for the AIR combination valve to be checked.

‹› Illustration shows the engine from the rear.

‹› Left AIR combination valve is shown in the illustration.

Remove the noise insulation fasteners - 1 - and noise insulation.
