Removing
-

Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.

-

Remove the seat.

-

Remove upper backrest cover.

-

Remove lower backrest cover.

-

Use screwdriver to pry out side securing strips -8- (2x).

-

Fold cover -1- forward.

-

Detach side airbag connector -6-, see Fig. 1.

-

Unscrew bolt -5-.

-

Press side airbag -4- downward and remove side airbag -4- forward.

Installing
-

Engage side airbag -4- at brackets -2- (2x) in backrest frame.

-

Disengage the brackets -3- (2x) and press side airbag -4- up to limit stop.

-

Replace bolt -5-.

-

Screw down Ground (GND) cable -7- on side airbag -4-.

-

Continue further installation of side airbag -4- in reverse order.

-

Switch the ignition on.

WARNING:  There must be no-one in the vehicle when the battery is being connected.

-

Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.

Tightening torque 7.5 Nm

NOTE:

-

After connecting the battery observe the necessary measures.

-

If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) -K75- signals a malfunction after assembly, the DTC memory must be checked with vehicle
diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051, then erased and re-checked.

Open securing clip -1-.

-

Detach connector -2-.
