Remove the Climatronic control module (J255) A/C control head.

Connect the test box (V.A.G 1598A) with the related adapter cable (V.A.G 1598/11) to connector - C -=> [ Wires and Components, Testing ] See:
Heating and Air Conditioning/Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and General Diagnostics/Wires and Components, Testing.

Connect the adapter cable (V.A.G 1598/12 ) to connector - D - (use a second test box (V.A.G 1598A) or connect the measuring device via a
suitable measuring lead from the connector test kit (V.A.G 1594C) directly to the adapter cable (V.A.G 1598/12 )) => [ Wires and Components,
Testing ] See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and General Diagnostics/Wires and Components, Testing.

‹› The contact assignment of connector - C - in the adapter cable (V.A.G 1598/11) and connector -  D - in the adapter cable (V.A.G 1598/12) is

identical to the jack assignment at the test box ( V.A.G 1598A).

Measure the resistance between contact "5" in connector -  C - (to the heated driver seat temperature sensor (G59)) and contact "16" in connector -
 D - (ground connection) at the test boxes.

‹› Target value: Resistance greater than 1.5 kohms (kilo-ohms) and less than 25 kohms (depending on the temperature of the temperature sensor, the

measured value is approx. 10 kohms at a seat temperature of 20°C)

Measure the resistance between contact "6" in connector -  C - (to the heated passenger seat temperature sensor (G60)) and contact "16" in
connector -  D - (ground connection) at the test boxes.

‹› Target value: Resistance greater than 1.5 kohms (kilo-ohms) and less than 25 kohms (depending on the temperature of the temperature sensor, the

measured value is approx. 10 kohms at a seat temperature of 20°C) 

‹› In vehicles with steering on the right, the heated driver seat temperature sensor (G59) is connected to contact " 6" and the heated passenger seat

temperature sensor (G60) is connected to contact "5".  

‹› The resistance value of the temperature sensor in the heating elements of the seats changes with the temperature (the specifications in the following

table are approximate values).
