Camshaft: Testing and Inspection
Camshaft, Measuring Axial Play
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
‹› Dial Gauge Holder (VW 387)
‹› Dial Gauge (VAS 6079)
Procedure

Measure with the guide frame removed.
-
Secure Dial Gauge Holder (VW 387) with the Dial Gauge (VAS 6079) on the cylinder head as shown in the illustration.
-
Determine axial play.
‹› Axial clearance: 0.100 to 0.191 mm.
