Pull driver's airbag unit from steering wheel a bit.

CAUTION!
‹› Before handling belt tensioner units (e.g. disconnecting electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity

". This can be done by touching door striker, for example.

Pull connector lock - 4 - as far as stop -  arrow -. This releases the electrical connector - 2 - and it can be removed.

Remove airbag unit - 1 - from steering wheel.

-

If applicable, disconnect electrical connection - 3 -. 

-

Place airbag unit so padding faces upward.

Installation

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order. Observe the following when doing so:

‹› Observe safety precautions for work on airbags. Refer to => [ Airbag System General Safety Precautions ] See: Service Precautions.

‹› Before handling airbag units (e.g. disconnecting electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This

can be done by touching door striker, for example.

‹› Ensure that electrical connections are pushed in as far as stop and engage with a click.

‹› Ensure wires are not pinched.

Connection spiral spring connector with airbag unit coupling on coil connector with slip ring.

-

Position airbag unit in steering wheel.

-

Tighten 2 screws - arrow - that secure airbag unit approximately 2 turns.
