Press horn about 3 times to achieve even gap dimension.

-

Do not touch airbag unit anymore.

-

Tighten screws - arrow -.

-

Press cover cap into cut-out on steering wheel.

Switch on ignition.

CAUTION!
Ignition must be on when connecting battery. If pyrotechnic components (e.g. airbag, belt tensioner) are not repaired correctly, they may
deploy unintentionally after connecting battery. There must not be anyone inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

Connect battery with ignition switched on.

After installing airbag unit, follow steps must be carried out.

Finally, check airbag control unit DTC memory and clear it so that faults can be saved when disconnecting connections.

Removing

CAUTION!
‹› Observe safety precautions for work on airbags. Refer to => [ Airbag System General Safety Precautions ] See: Service Precautions.

Remove driver side airbag unit. Refer to => [ Driver Airbag Igniters ].

CAUTION!
‹› Before handling belt tensioner units (e.g. disconnecting electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity

". This can be done by touching door striker, for example.

Disconnect electrical connections - 2 - and -  4 - on airbag with screwdriver - 1 -.
