Driver Knee Airbag

Driver Knee Airbag

Removing

-

Move driver's seat all the way back and put backrest at a 45° angle.

CAUTION!
‹› Observe safety precautions for work on airbags. Refer to => [ Airbag System General Safety Precautions ] See: Service Precautions.

Switch off ignition.

-

Clamp off ground wire at battery with ignition switched off.

Remove knee bar (driver side instrument panel cover) => [ Driver Side Instrument Panel Cover ].

Unclip 16-Pin Connector (T16) (for the Data Link Connector).

-

Remove bolts - A - (below knee airbag - 1 -) and - B - (above knee airbag). 

-

Then remove driver side footwell air channel - 2 - from passenger side footwell air channel - 3 -.

CAUTION!
‹› Before handling airbag units (e.g. disconnecting electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This

can be done by touching door striker, for example.

Disconnect knee airbag connector (yellow).
