Remove bolts - 2 - for right support - 1 - on central tube - 3 -.

Remove right support.

‹› The arrow points to the direction of travel.

Installation

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order. Observe the following when doing so:

-

First tighten bolts - 1 - for right support -  2 - on central tube - 3 - by hand. Then tighten bolts to torque.

CAUTION!
‹› Observe safety precautions for work on airbags. Refer to => [ Airbag System General Safety Precautions ] See: Service Precautions.

‹› Before handling airbag units (e.g. disconnecting electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This

can be done by touching door striker, for example.

Install glove compartment. 

‹› Ensure that electrical connections are pushed in as far as stop and engage with a click.

‹› Ensure wires are not pinched.

Switch on ignition.

CAUTION!
Ignition must be on when connecting battery. If pyrotechnic components (e.g. airbag, belt tensioner) are not repaired correctly, they may
deploy unintentionally after connecting battery. There must not be anyone inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

Connect battery ground cable with ignition switched on.

If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75 ) indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again
=> Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051 B).
