Checking timing of camshaft(s) (M44)
Remove fan coupling with fan wheel,
refer to 11 52 020
Removing cylinder head cover,
refer to 11 12 000
Removing spark plugs,
refer to 12 12 011
Turn central screw to rotate crankshaft in normal direction of
rotation until piston of first cylinder is at firing TDC.
Remove dust cover from locating bore.
Secure crankshaft in TDC position with Special Tool 11 2 300.
Caution!
Remove Special Tool prior to operating engine.
