3 Series E36 M3 (S50) CONVER
Important!
After removing splined shaft, there is no positive connection
between sprocket and intake camshaft.
Engine must not be cranked in this state to avoid contact
between valves and pistons.
Important!
Strong spring force.
Remove chain tensioner piston together with spring,
refer to 11 31 090 .
Remove chain guide from timing chain between intake and
exhaust camshafts.
Detach sprocket wheel and input shaft for VANOS radial piston
pump from exhaust camshaft using special tool 11 3 470.
RA Replacing all camshafts (S50 B30)
