Replacing throttle potentiometer (S50)
Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.
Switch off ignition.
S50 B30:
Press in retainers.
Pull off throttle-potentiometer connector (1) and intake-camshaft-
sensor connector (2).
Unfasten screws (3) and remove throttle valve potentiometer from
the actuating shaft.
Caution!
Slide throttle valve potentiometer straight onto actuating shaft,
otherwise the driver on the potentiometer can suffer
premature damage!
Installation:
It is not necessary to adjust throttle potentiometer (self-
adjusting).
Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit, check faults in
memory, rectify faults and clear fault memory.
S50 B32:
Disconnect connector.
Unfasten screws (1) and pull throttle valve potentiometer from the
actuating shaft.
Caution!
Slide throttle valve potentiometer straight onto actuating shaft,
otherwise the driver on the potentiometer can suffer
premature damage!
Installation:
It is not necessary to adjust throttle potentiometer (self-
adjusting).
Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit, check faults in
memory, rectify faults and clear fault memory.
