Replacing wiring harness section for engine
(M57)

Interrogate fault memory of DDE control module. Switch off
ignition.

Instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery,

refer to General Information MG12.

Disconnect and cover battery negative lead.

Remove intake air manifold,

refer to 11 61 050.

Remove underbody panelling at front.

E39 car only:

Loosen screws (1).

Tightening torque,

refer to Technical Data 12 90 4AZ.

Remove electronic box cover (2).

Disconnect plug (1) on DDE control module.

Pull plugs (2 and 3).

Disconnect plug (4) from preheating relay.

Remove wiring harness section (5) from electronic box.
