5 Series E60 520d (N47) SAL
The marks on both camshafts (A and E) must agree when
installing exhaust camshaft (A) (see illustration).
Install exhaust camshaft.
Tighten bearing caps A1 to A5 by 1/2 a turn at a time on the
camshaft carrier, working from the inside outwards.
Tightening torque: 11 31 2AZ
.
Using special tool 11 6 480 , crank engine twice in direction of
engine rotation until cylinder No.1 is back in ignition TDC position.
Check camshaft setting.
Important!
Do not turn the engine back.
Assemble engine.
