Damaged paint finish must always be repaired to guarantee longterm corrosion inhibition!
Damage to paintwork on body must be touched up with BMW MS-AK Multi-base filler (gray or red/brown).
Grind out scratches in non-visible area and touch up with BMW MS-AK multi-base filler.
Do not apply the BMW MS-AK multibase filler to the residual adhesive bead (no adhesion between the residual
adhesive bead and the new adhesive).
Large areas of damage must be ground down to bare metal and coated with BMW MS-AK multi-base filler (layer
thickness 30 ... 40 microns).
If complete build-up of paint finish is required in a visible area, the prime-coated glue flange must be covered with
adhesive tape prior to application of the final coat of paint.
Caution!
BMW MS-AK Multi-base filler must be hardened (with infrared for at least 10 minutes, without infrared for at
least 4 ... 6 hours at a minimum of 18
°
C).

a)
Clean with 2-propanol (100% alcohol, in pharmacy
obtainable).
b)
Air drying time at least 1 minute (with application on
residual adhesive bead at least 15 minutes).
Preparation for assembly:
Prepare plastic nozzle for the shaping of the glue bead (can be cut to size during the specified ventilation time).
The inside edge of the window is coated with a protective glue bead with a (black) UV-resistant glass ceramic layer
which must be treated as follows:

Clean with 2-propanol (100% alcohol, obtainable in
pharmacy).

Specified ventilation time at least 1 minute.

Apply a thin coat of Sika 205/5 bonding agent.

Specified ventilation time at least 2 minutes.
