Brake Pedal Assy: Service and Repair
Brake and Accelerator Pedal Assembly Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the instrument panel tie bar. Refer to Instrument Panel Tie Bar Replacement (See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard
/ Instrument Panel/Service and Repair/Instrument Panel Tie Bar Replacement).
2. Disconnect the accelerator pedal position sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement (See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Pedal
Positioning System/Pedal Positioning Sensor/Service and Repair/Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement).
4. Pull the brake pedal (1) rearward to release the power vacuum brake booster pushrod retainer.
Note: Do not reuse the power vacuum brake booster pushrod retainer.
5. Remove and discard the power vacuum brake booster pushrod retainer.
6. Remove the power vacuum brake booster. Refer to Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement (See: Power Brake Assist/Vacuum Brake
Booster/Service and Repair).
