9. Release the ECM retaining tab (1) and place the ECM away from the surge tank work area (2) as shown in the illustration.
10. Remove the bolts from the bottom of the battery tray.
11. Remove the battery tray.
Warning
To avoid being burned, do not remove the radiator cap or surge tank cap while the engine is hot. The cooling system will release scalding fluid and steam
under pressure if radiator cap or surge tank cap is removed while the engine and radiator are still hot.
12. Remove the surge tank pressure cap from the surge tank.
13. Place a hose clamp tool on the surge tank outlet hose (bottom hose) (1). Refer to the illustration.
14. Remove the surge tank outlet hose from the surge tank.
15. Remove the surge tank inlet hose (top hose) from the surge tank.
