Clamp caliper in a vise and remove the two mounting sleeves and four bushings, Fig. 2.

Remove shoe dampening spring from end of piston.
3.
If installed, remove locknut, lever, lever seal, and anti-friction washer.
4.
Rotate parking brake lever in parking brake apply direction to remove piston from housing, Fig. 3. If piston will not move, Use a 9/16 inch
wrench, rotate actuator screw clockwise on righthand caliper or counterclockwise on lefthand caliper until the piston moves from housing. Pad
caliper with shop cloths when removing piston.

Remove balance spring, then remove actuator screw by pressing on thread end.
6.
Remove shaft seal, and thrust washer from actuator screw.
7.
Remove dust boot. Take care not to scratch caliper housing or bore.
8.
Using a small piece of wood or plastic, remove piston seal from bore. Do not use a metal tool of any kind to remove seal as it may damage
bore.
9.
Remove bleeder screw, fitting, copper washers, and bolt. Remove bracket only if damaged.
10.
Inspect piston for scoring, nicks, corrosion, and wear and replace as needed.
11.
Inspect caliper housing and seal groove for corrosion, nicks, scoring and excessive wear, and use crocus cloth to polish away corrosion from
housing bore. Replace caliper housing if corrosion in and around seal groove will not clean up with crocus cloth.
12.
Clean all parts with denatured alcohol. Dry with unlubricated compressed air. Blow out all passages in housing and bleeder valve.
