Compressor Clutch: Service and Repair
Removal

Fig. 2 Removing pulley rotor & bearing assembly

1.

Refer to ``Compressor Clutch Plate & Hub Assembly'' procedure to remove clutch plate and hub.

2.

Remove rotor and bearing assembly retaining ring.

3.

Place puller guide J-33023 or equivalent on front head and engage puller J-33020 or equivalent into inner circle of slots in rotor by turning
clockwise, Fig. 2.

4.

Hold puller in place and tighten puller screw against puller guide to remove pulley rotor and bearing assembly.

5.

Remove forcing screw from puller and invert assembly on solid flat surface. Rotor hub must be properly supported during bearing removal.

6.

Drive bearing out of rotor hub with rotor bearing remover J-9398 and J-8092 handle. It is not necessary to remove staking in front of bearing
during removal. Old stake metal will have to be filed away to ensure proper clearance for installation of new bearing.
