25. Lower the transmission and remove the vent hose (2) from the vent tube.
26. Position the wire harness and vent tube aside.
27. Remove the transfer case. Refer to Transfer Case Assembly Replacement   (See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Transfer Case/Service and

Repair/Removal and Replacement/Transfer Case Assembly Replacement).

28. Remove the transmission mounting bolts (1-6).
29. Pull the transmission free from the engine dowels.

Note:  Ensure clearance is maintained between the transmission and the following:

*

The wiring harness

*

The vent tube

*

The cooler pipes

30. Carefully lower the transmission from the vehicle.
31. Flush the transmission oil cooler if necessary. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Flushing and Flow Test   (See: Maintenance/Fluids/Fluid -

A/T/Testing and Inspection).
