Front Propeller Shaft Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the lower engine shield.
3. Remove the right catalytic convertor. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side (LLT) (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Exhaust
System/Catalytic Converter/Service and Repair/Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side)Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side

4. Remove the front drive axle heat shield. Refer to Shield Replacement (See: Differential Assembly/Service and Repair).
Note: Mark the relationship of the propeller shaft to the front drive axle and transfer case flanges.
5. Remove the front propeller mounting bolts (4) and locks (4) from the transfer case drive flange.
6. Remove the front propeller shaft mounting bolts (2) and locks (3) from the front drive axle.
7. Using a flat bladed screw driver, remove the front propeller shaft front from the transfer case and front drive axle drive flanges.
8. Remove the front propeller shaft (1) from the vehicle.
