Crankshaft Balancer: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure

J36660-A Torque/Angle Meter

-

J41816 Crankshaft Balancer Remover

-

J41998-B Crankshaft Balancer Installer

-

J44214 Flywheel Holder

1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Remove the right front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
4. Remove the wheelhouse extension from the wheelhouse. Refer to Fascia Extension Replacement - Front.
5. Remove the brace between the engine oil pan and the transmission case.
6. Remove the torque converter cover. Refer to Torque Converter Cover Replacement in Transmission and Drivetrain.

7. Install the J44214 (1).
8. Remove the crankshaft balancer bolt.
