Front Door Window Glass Weatherstrip: Service and Repair
Door Window Channel
Window Channel Replacement - Front Door Front/Rear
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (See: Front Door Panel/Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement.
3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door See: Front Door Panel/Service and Repair
4. Remove the window. Refer to Window Replacement - Front Door (See: Service and Repair) .
5. Remove the upper and lower fasteners (3) from the rear window channel (4).
6. Rotate the rear window channel (4) forward.
7. Remove the rear window channel (4) through the rear access hole of the inner door panel.
8. Remove the mirror in order to access the retaining bolt (1) for the front window channel. Refer to Mirror Replacement - Power (See:
Mirrors/Service and Repair/Mirror Replacement - Power Mirror) .
9. Pull out the window weatherstrip from the window channel pinchweld.
10. Remove the lower fastener (3) from the front window channel (5).
11. Remove the upper fastener (1) from the push nut (2).
12. Remove the front window channel (5) through the front access hole of the inner door panel.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the rear window channel (4) through the rear access hole of the inner door panel.
2. Insert the studs through the inner door panel slots.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
3. Install the upper and lower fasteners (3).
Tighten the rear window channel fasteners to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
4. Install the front window channel (5) through the front access hole of the inner door panel.
5. Position the front window channel (5) upper slot with the fastener (2) on the outer panel of the mirror patch.
6. Insert the lower stud through the inner door panel slot.
7. Install the upper fastener (1) to the front window channel (5).
Tighten the fastener to 1.3 N.m (12 lb in).
