Front Door Exterior Handle: Service and Repair

Door Handle Replacement - Front Outside

Removal Procedure

1. Place the window in the full up position.
2. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door  (See: Front Door Panel/Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement.
4. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door. See: Front Door Panel/Service and Repair/Water Deflector

Replacement - Front Door

5. Through the rear access hole of the inner panel, disconnect the outside door handle rod (1) from the door latch retainer clip (2).

6. Disconnect the outside lock rod (1) from the door latch (6) (driver door only).

7. Disconnect the lock cylinder harness electrical connector from the door harness (driver door only).
8. Remove the outside door handle fasteners through the access holes.

9. Remove the door handle assemble from the door in the following order:
