Power Steering Hose Routing
5. Retainer.
6. Pressure switch electrical connection. On speed sensitive steering systems, also disconnect electrical connection at the control valve and manifold.
7. Power steering gear outlet and inlet hoses from steering gear. On speed sensitive steering systems, remove filter as needed for access.
8. Support body with stands to allow lowering of frame.
9. Loosen front frame bolts.
10. Rear frame bolts, and lower rear of frame about 76 mm (3 inches).
NOTICE: Do not lower rear of frame too far, as damage to engine components nearest to the cowl may result.
11. Steering gear mounting bolts.
12. Steering gear through left wheel opening.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Steering gear through left wheel opening.
2. Raise rear of frame.
3. Frame bolts.
TIGHTEN

Bolts to 103 Nm (76 lb. ft.).
4. Remove stands.
5. Two washers and five steering gear mounting bolts; Loctite® Thread Locking Kit No. 1052624, or equivalent, must be used. Tighten bolts in the
sequence shown.
TIGHTEN
^
Bolts to 68 Nm (50 lb. ft.).
6. Power steering gear outlet and inlet hoses (including filter on 588 systems, if previously removed).
