Removal Procedure
1. Remove the turbocharger. Refer to Turbocharger Replacement (See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air
Induction/Turbocharger/Service and Repair/Turbocharger Replacement).
2. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler assembly. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Cooler Replacement (See: Powertrain
Management/Emission Control Systems/Exhaust Gas Recirculation/EGR Cooler/Service and Repair/Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Cooler
Replacement).
3. Remove the generator mounting bracket. Refer to Generator Bracket Replacement (V8) (See: Starting and Charging/Charging

4. Remove the cooling fan clutch. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement (See: Radiator Cooling Fan/Fan Clutch/Service and Repair).
5. Reposition the hose clamp and move the turbocharger coolant return hose (1) away from the turbocharger coolant return pipe (2).
