INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

J 37777 Race Installer

J 35737-01 Oil Seal Installer

J 8092Driver Handle

J 35399 Front Axle Hub Installer

J 35737-02 Oil Seal Installer

NOTICE:  Always use the correct fastener in the proper location. When you replace a fastener, use ONLY the exact part number for that application.
The manufacturer will call out those fasteners that require a replacement after removal. The manufacturer will also call out the fasteners that require
thread lockers or thread sealant. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, do not use supplemental coatings (paints, greases, or other corrosion inhibitors)
on threaded fasteners or fastener joint interfaces. Generally, such coatings adversely affect the fastener torque and joint clamping force, and may
damage the fastener. When you install fasteners, use the correct tightening sequence and specifications. Following these instructions can help you
avoid damage to parts and systems.

Important:  Keep the balls inside the bearing.

1. Remove the new bearing inner races (inner and outer) from a new bearing.

2. Press the new bearing into the steering knuckle using the following tools:

3. Install the new bearing inner races (inside and outside) to the bearing using the following tools:

4. Insert the side lip of the new outer seal into the J 35737-01 (1) Drive the outer seal into the steering knuckle.
5. Apply GCLB grease (or equivalent) to the outer seal lip.
6. Install the brake shield to the steering knuckle. Secure the brake shield with the three bolts using a torx (R) wrench (T30). 

Tighten 
Tighten the bolts to 8.3 Nm (74 ft. lbs.).

7. Place the hub on a press with the wheel stud side down.
8. Place the steering knuckle on the hub.

Important:  Use care in order to not damage the bearing while installing the hub.

9. Press the hub into the steering knuckle using the following tools:

10. Install the front wheel bearing retainer to the steering knuckle using snap ring pliers.
