Squeak In Door Sill Area
MODELS:
1996 - 1997 (JX) Sebring Convertible
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
A squeak coming from the door sill area.
DIAGNOSIS:
Drive the vehicle over speed bumps or rough roads attempting to create body flexing, listen for a squeak coming from the lower door sill area. If a
squeak is heard from either side, perform the Repair Procedure.

Screw, 8 mm - M8x1 .25x35 mm Self Tapping
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves the addition of a screw to the cowl side sheet metal and into the reinforcement tube.
1.
Remove the door sill trim panel by gently prying up with a fork type prying tool. Start at one end and work to the other.
2.
Remove the screws holding the cowl trim panel to the inner cowl panel and set aside the cowl trim panel. Figure 1
3.
Remove the floor mat and pull back the carpet to allow access to the inner cowl panel and floor pan.
4.
Disengage wiring harness from sheet metal for access.
5.
Pull back sound deadner mat.
